I'm with Elbow: Give me that Stanley Theater run from 9/26 to 9/28/1972. (Realizing they've already done a Dix Pix for one of those nights.)

I'd also crave the 12/27 to 12/31/77 Winterland run, but I'm sure w/this set being Winterland that won't happen.

While i'm at it, I would REALLY love to see a "best of" boxed set from April 1978, even though there's no one single venue.

Take selections from 4/8, 4/12, 4/16, 4/18, and 4/24/78 and you'd have an AMAZING collection, with no repeated songs. (The only problem w/boxed sets like Winterland '73 is you do get a lot of repeated songs).

Hey G--it is funny; after ordering 73 (yes, even a 68 twit like me is doing it) I read that folks were saying that about this box, so I scanned the set list again, but then compared it to "mine" (ie, 68 & 69) and realized (of course), my set lists are even more restricted and consistent: DS-->StSt-->11-->DDHNM; CE-->OO-->CE-->NPC-->FB...anyway, figure it is time I move ahead a few years...

....one of these days the reverse is going to happen to me...i'll have listened to every single 1977 show there is over and over to the point where if I hear one more Wharf Rat>NFA>BlackPeter>SugarMag I'll go insane, and suddenly discover the joys of a New Potato Caboose and a Viola Lee Blues that blows my mind ;-)

That's what great about the Dead, though...each era is so distinct you can jump around to find a whole different sound if you get too inundated with just one.

which explains their long-lasting appeal. while "primal" 68' era dead may be "it" for some, if that's all it was, doubtful we'd all be here on a daily basis listening, commenting, etc. each era has its pros and cons (i know there is a pro post 91, i just haven't found it yet).
